Spring Break 2015

Last Friday night, March 27th we took off for our South African Cape/Safari Adventure.
We took a 7 hour flight to Doha in Qatar and the second leg was about 9 hours from Doha to Cape Town, South Africa.

The just over 8,200 mile trip and 7 hour time change didn't get this group(our 6 plus Tim and Elaine Hanselman) down.  Tim and Elaine moved to KL from Indiana about 18 months ago, and Tim works at Elanco with Justin.  Since moving here we have become good friends, and they were brave enough to want to travel with us!

After a late lunch and much needed shower, we headed out to the V and A Waterfront.
The first thing we saw when got close to the waterfront was the Cape Wheel.  There were 3 little girls who were excited to ride it, and 1 little Whit who wasn't too sure.

The bird's eye view was awesome and by the first rotation around Whit thought the ride was fun.

Gotta love a man dressed to look like a bonze statue.

We researched kid friendly places to eat and learned that kids can make their own pizza and cookies at......

Our little chefs were excited to make their own dinner, and it gave the adults a few quiet minutes to look over the menu and order a bottle of wine.

The first of many slices of cheese pizza consumed by kiddos on this trip.
Jet lag hit H and M, and they fell asleep at the table.  K and her apprentice were still going strong for baking cookies.

Life is Good with a successful day of travel and fun first day of vacation.
