Watch out world......Whitney Grace is on the move!!!!!

Life is Good when you learn new things!!!

Gotta Love a Good Skort!!!

Over the weekend, I tested a pattern for Petite Kids Boutique.  This is the second one I have done for them, and I love all the pictures and color coding the patterns have.

The best part of this skirt is the shorts underneath!!!!

I didn't start this project until about 8:00 last night, so I was a bit tired.  I had been texting the neighbor and was joking about being locked down in the basement.  Before too long I heard a little tap on the window...........She lowered down an adult beverage and some pretzels into the window well.

Fishy Princess Chesnut

Meet Fishy Princess Chesnut!!!!!

Once we got home from the Mother/Daughter Tea we did some research and decided Hannah's fish was probably a boy.
She named him Joshua and was very excited to show him where he would live in her room!!!!
She had a change of heart and decided the fish is actually probably a girl and it's name is Fishy Princess.  Guess Justin is still the only boy in the Chesnut household!!!!

Life is Good when your 7th birthday wish can be made with a $35 trip to the pet store.
Hope it is that easy when she turns 16!!!!

Here is what I decided to do with the 12 different fabrics:

6-12 month--$25
12-18 month--$28
2,3,4,5 and 7--$30

Mother/Daughter Tea

Yesterday afternoon, Hannah went to her Daisy Mother/Daughter Tea.

We enjoyed lemonade, cucumber sandwiches and many yummy sweets.
They did a fashion show and Hannah loved having all eyes on her while she walked the runway.

To end the event they did a raffle drawing. Everyone was given a ticket and there a few tiny tea sets and about 5 centerpieces they were going to give away. The centerpieces were different sized bowls with either 1 or 2 goldfish.................Hannah was beyond excited when she found this out. A fish is still at the top of her birthday wish list and she is saving her money and trying to be the best she can be to her sisters. She was chanting quietly..."Hannah win a fish" before each number. She was holding onto the tickets so tightly her hands were shaking!!!

Luck was on her side because she won this:
Pure Joy and Excitement!!!!!

On the way home we stopped by the pet store to get what we would need for our new little friends. The woman told us we may want to get a filtered tank since there were 2. After a little discussion, we decided it would maybe be better to put these 2 fish with all their goldfish friends and get a betta fish since that is what she really wanted for her birthday.

Stay tuned to find out what she names her new little buddy and where he will be living!!!!

Catina C. Cat

On Thursday, Kaylee's preschool class put on a parade to end their year long experience with a program called Zoo phonics. Each week she has been so excited to share with us about the letter they are working on. Even Macy's class is beginning to learn the letters and their sounds using this method. Now the alphabet is more than just a song they memorize........they have actions and make the letter sound as they go.

The Animal Alphabet helps children remember the shapes and sounds of the letters.
• Letter sounds are taught before letter names.
• Lowercase letters are taught before capital letters.
• The Body Movement for each Animal Letter helps “cement” the phonemic information into memory.
• The alphabet is taught sequentially, and as a whole entity, “a - z.” The alphabet is not fragmented.
• Short vowels are taught before long vowels.
• Phonemic patterns (at, bat, fat, sat, etc.) are taught first, rather than random word lists (of, it, then, was, etc.Alligator

There's a Coon in my Bed!!!!

Every few nights we have a little Coon that finds it way to our bed. Usually she just sleeps at our feet, so it doesn't bother us too much.
This morning, I got up with Whitney at 5:30 for a bottle. She feel back to sleep, but I was wide awake. I decided to get up, make my bed and start my day. Got myself some coffee, turned on Scandal--one of my new favorite shows and cut some fabric.

When I went up at 7:15 to take my shower, this is what I found:
Apparently, she doesn't come to our room at night because she wants to be close to us........she just likes our bed better!!!!
Life is Good when you can sleep peacefully.

Two Little Mommies

Ever since we got home from preschool today, the girls have been cracking me up. First, Macy asked if a new pair of jeans were for Hannah. I told her yes, since no one else will wear jeans. She said, "I do wear them when I check the cows with Papa Scott!!!!!"

Then, when we were mixing up chocolate pudding---instant that you just add milk too---the girls were talking about being a mom. Macy decided when she is 5 she will be a mom, but only a pretend one when they are playing house.

While I was emptying the dishwasher I overheard this:

Kaylee--I am going to rock her.---talking about Whitney
Macy--You are going to WHACK her?!?!?!?!
K--NO.......ROCK her!!!
M--Oh good, I thought you were going to hit her.

I snuck up on them and took a few pics of them being little mommies:

This is not what Macy wore to school today---she changed into it right when we got home, but she did wear it on Tuesday. I guess it is one of her favorite spring outifts!!!!

That Time of Year

It's that time of year again.......

......soccer season,
..........yard work,
..........short sleeved shirts,
..........bike rides,
............skinned knees,
and
TEACHER GIFTS!!!!

If you are a homeroom teacher for one of the Chesnut girls, stop reading now......unless you WANT to know what your end of the year gift is!!!!!

The girls will once again say thank you for a great year with a purse. Last year, I had a few purse orders for teachers as well as a few gift certificates. If you would like to order a purse or certificate just send me a message---I will not be posting all of the purses on Etsy.

$30
with a magnetic snap closure and 3 interior pockets
My little buddy decided taking a morning nap was not in her plan. We also have to be at preschool at 11:45 for a parade, so the other purses aren't quite done!!!!!!!

Life is Good when you can give a gift that says you are a great teacher without REALLY having,"You're a great teacher" printed on it!!!!!!

8 Months

Whitney is 8 months today!!!!

She changes so much week to week now. She has started to push up on her hands, but hasn't moved forward yet. She never stays where I put her for very long----she does a lot of rolling and scooting!!!! Yesterday, I bought 4 baby gates so now Daddy needs to install them!!!
She rarely falls down anymore when sitting, but when she does it is fairly graceful.
She is eating 3 meals of baby food a day now.

I asked the girls to run up when she woke up from her am nap,
and this is how I found all of them!!!

She is beginning to clap now, but of course she wouldn't do it when I had the camera out today!!!

Life is Good when everyday is a new adventure!!!

A Great Day with my Helper

Over the weekend, I did a craft show in Richmond, IN. It was my first show since moving back to Indiana and it was a lot of fun to get ready for. It was the first time for this show so no one really knew what to expect. The facility was unique. It looked like a horse stable with different wooden stalls..........It would be a great layout for a multi vendor store!!!! Here are a few pictures of what my space looked like.
Kaylee came with me and it was a fun day with her. We played Go Fish, walked around and met all the vendors and colored. It was great to have some one on one time with her.
This American Girl dress quickly found its way onto Kamden, Kaylee's doll!!!!
Guess it was her payment for helping me out!!!
Baby Blankets, Lovies and Burp Cloths

Lunch Break!!!

Life is Good when you get to spend it with your Sweetpeas!!!!

Sew Sassy Sweetpeas is excited to be part of MIGS(MOPS Indoor Garage Sale) at New Hope Church on April 28th from 8-2.
